Getting to Tokyo

Traveling to Tokyo is easier than it sounds, and we’re so excited you’re considering the trip!
Most guests will fly from major U.S. cities like Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles into either Narita (NRT) or Haneda (HND) airports. Both are great options, though Haneda is closer to central Tokyo. Many nonstop flights are available, typically 10 to 14 hours long.
We recommend arriving 1 to 2 days early to adjust to the time difference and enjoy the city. Be sure your passport is valid for six months beyond your return flight. U.S. citizens do not need a visa to visit Japan.
Once you arrive, getting into Tokyo is simple via train, bus, or taxi. Japan is very safe, clean, and easy to navigate, even for first-time international travelers. We’re happy to help with any questions and can’t wait to celebrate together in Tokyo!
