Questions?

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dressy-casual! Wear something that makes you feel nice, but make sure you still have the freedom to move, play games, dance, and be comfortable! Think “tea with grandma.” Something that she’d look at and say “you sure do clean up nice,” but that doesn’t stop you from movin' and groovin'! The venue will be mostly outside in a well-shaded area, so consider bringing a jacket for when things cool down in the evening. There are no required or prohibited colors, as we have no wedding party and this is not a ceremony. Feel free to wear whatever makes you happy!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Of course! Your RSVP should indicate how many guests you have been allotted in your party. We did our best to accurately account for partners and children. If we may have left somebody from your party out, please don’t hesitate to reach out! While kiddos are welcome, we also understand if you decide to come as unaccompanied adults ;)

Question

What about the ceremony?

Answer

We decided to have a private adventure-style elopement ceremony prior to this reception. It was important that this was a moment shared between only the two of us. This means that by the time we see you for the reception, we will be married already and settling into that amazing feeling. There will be plenty of photos from our amazing photographer and stories to be shared with everyone!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The time listed on your invitation is the time we expect guests to arrive. There is no itinerary past arrival! Wander around, talk, dance, play games, sign the guest book, and look at our photos at whatever pace you prefer. We will begin cleaning up at 8:30.

Question

What’s the parking situation?

Answer

We have use of the parking lot directly next to the venue, which is accessed from the next street (Gentle Ave W), labeled “Parking Lot S” on Google Maps. Additionally, there are parking spaces that are located directly next to the venue if you pull into the driveway marked “The Gentle House”off of Monmouth Ave. Please reserve these spaces for our guests who may need to utilize the ADA accommodations of our venue. Please keep your party contained to one vehicle if possible in order to maximize parking availability.

Question

What about food?

Answer

Food will be pizza served buffet style— with sides, snacks, and light desserts! Nothing too fancy, but as Dean Martin said, “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore.” If you have any dietary restrictions, feel free to bring food, snacks, or drinks that are safe for you to consume :) there is a full kitchen available and this is a very casual event, so we are more than happy to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability.
