Their friendship had an open door policy and a gate key...which meant they were inseparable. After each of then moved to different countries AND endured a world wide pandemic, their friendship remained exactly the same, strong and filled with laughs! This wedding will be their first time seeing each other in 4 years and Lanielle cant wait to hug Nicky and laugh all day!!

THE ONE I AM ALWAYS GIGGLING WITH- Sage and Lanielle met when they had to play a piano duet together in a church concert when they were really young. Although Sage does not remember it, they were laughing and giggling non-stop THEN already! Sage’s laugh and strength lights up the room everywhere she goes! We love her and we are honored to have her by our side on our wedding day and in life!

When Jedd first met Stephen - he facilitated Stephen's introduction to the first order of "one Jagger shot, one Brandy & Coke." With his dashing looks, terrific smile, and studly muscles, Stephen knew this was a match made in heaven. Later that night, Jedd even gave Stephen a big kiss on the cheek. Stephen has not washed that cheek since. But since then these two have enjoyed many of the previously mentioned orders from the bar. Along with good times on the beach, around the USA, and across many glorious fairways. And only fairways. Our wives are just as jealous of our relationship as they are impressed with our golf game.

THE ONE I WONT GROW UP WITH- Demi and Lanielle met when they were 4 years old at Lilyfontein school where they graduated together! 24 years of friendship that has been through it all- Tree houses, Spies, High school musical, obsessing over Jonas Brothers and Zac Efron, learning to Sokkie at farmers, school drama, Boys, university, jobs and all the hard times and of course all the good times! Now here they are again and here they will be another day, always being there for each other and always celebrating the big moments in their lives. Demi and Dan joined Lanielle and Stephen in the USA this year and there really isn't anything else like a childhood best friend. It is extremely special and we are so grateful for this friendship!

From giggling and crashing quad bikes to ripping it up on the dance floor, Jacky has been an incredible friend and Lanielle is so darn lucky to have Jacky in her life 🥰 She's been by Lanielle’s side, supporting her through life's twists and turns, and she's celebrated all the good times with Lanielle. Whether it's tearing up the dance floor or sharing heartfelt conversations, their bond remains unbreakable. Lanielle considers herself to be incredibly fortunate to have Jacky in her life. She's more than just a friend; she's the embodiment of what true friendship means. THE ONE WHO MADE LOS ANGELES HOME: Lanielle and Oreesa met in Los Angeles in 2019 and became inseparable from day one. Born and raised in Durban, Lanielle found a part of home in Oreesa. Besides many Hollywood night outs and adventures around Los Angeles, Oreesa truly helped Lanielle accept who she was and help her to be her true self while adjusting to the Hollywood world. The two of them together is a whole other level of energy and laughs and we can’t wait for Dancing to start so our wonderful guests can see Ebony and Ivory in top form!

THE ONE THAT NEVER CHANGES- Kandi and Lanielle met in Grade 4 and on her first day she made Lanielle laugh all day! No matter how many miles or years pass, whenever Lanielle is with Kandi it doesn’t feel different at all. Their friendship is so special and they have been through all the life changing events together and still have many years to go! Kandi has the best sense of humor and will make any “silent assembly” moment funny. Kandi also got Lanielle in trouble many times at school for laughing but she forgives her.

THE ONE THAT BECAME MY BROTHER: Matthew and Lanielle not only started Pre-school together but lived right next to each other and became inseparable outside of school and BEYOND school! From climbing trees, talking on the telephone every day, supporting each others miles stones, caring for each other through every sickness and broken bone, being each others +1 to weddings, to sharing girl dresses... No matter where we live or what we do, we cannot be separated! Matt has the most contagious laugh, and the best humor, always making every one smile and feel loved. We are so honored to have him in our lives and in our wedding! To Stephen, Matt became the "brother" he never knew he needed. Always cracking jokes that leave us doubled over in laughter Stephen can't help but get excited about all the shenanigans they are going to get into. We know that we'll be making hilarious memories together. So, let's just say that Matt is not just the bride's best friend but also the groom's partner in all things awesome. Together, we're going to create memories that will have us laughing and shaking our heads for years to come.

THE ONE I LIVED WITH MOST OF HIGH SCHOOL: Warren Winkle and I have known each other other since Primary school. But because of the age gap he was always that big kid we wanted to annoy until one day when I was 17 or so I saw Warren again at a World cup rugby game and IMMEDIATELY became best friends. You could say I basically moved in with Warren and his family after that. Warren was always makes me laugh so hard I sound like a dying seal. He always motivated me to keep super active, went on every holiday together and we always came up with crazy games like newspaper sword fights trying to balance on a slippery food tray. He has such a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor. After he moved to China and I moved to USA you would think things would change but they have not. 3 hour video calls still get that dying seal laugh out of me :')

THE LITTLE SISTER: Our charming flower girl! The moment I met Erin as a little baby I was absolutely in love. Her beautiful eyes just fill up your heart and make you want to melt! I have watched beautiful Erin grow taller and just more and more beautiful as days go on and I am so blessed to have her and all the Van de Merwe's in our lives! Erin's big heart and radiant smile will light up our day, and we can't wait for you to meet this lovely flower girl.

THE "LITTLE BROTHER": We've watched Juan grow from a young, bright-eyed boy into the incredible man he is today. We could not be more thrilled to have him apart of the wedding crew and in our lives!! Juan's presence in our wedding is a symbol of the strong bond we share with him and his family, and we can't wait to see the love and warmth he'll bring to our special day.

Daniel is simply the type of guy that shows up to USA, jumps on the boat, and instantly provides confidence that fish will be caught that day. And what do you know, a fish kissed our hooks on the first cast. Any day, fishing or not, it is made better with Daniel as a part of it. His chill is unmatched. And his smooth nature lures both the fish, and Stephen into his circle. His humble side is reading this and thinking "ag, no man." But I see you, Dan. This guy. Their wives are as jealous as they are of their relationship as they are impressed by their fishing skills. Jokes aside, they are the men Demi and Lanielle used to dream of when they were playing "wedding days" as little girls in the tree house.

Kevin also kissed Stephen on the cheek the first time they met (the opposite one Jedd did). Stephen has also not washed that cheek since. So although his face is dirty, grimy, and even fishy - that is just how Kev likes him. Stephen and Kevin enjoy long walks on the beach, stroking the pedals (on bikes), and wandering outside the fairway looking for Kev's golf balls. Stephen's, of course, is waiting on the fairway. Their wife and girlfriend are as jealous of their relationship as they are impressed by their natural athleticism.
