Make a cheesecake or pie for dessert buffet
If you like baking, please consider making a cheesecake or pie (or other fun desert) for the reception. You're welcome to use the kitchen at the house that Lani's parents, Michael and Marcia, rented in SW Las Vegas. They will supply cream cheese and spring-form pans for cheesecake, and pie crusts and pans for pie. Please use the google sheet to reserve time in the kitchen. You may need to request permission to access the sheet. Thank you!
Volunteer tasks before and after celebrations
We welcome help before and after the celebrations for tasks! Some tasks are smaller, such as setting up/taking down tables and chairs. Some tasks are bigger such as decorating, clean up, and picking up food. You also should not feel like you need to help, just having you join us is enough! Please sign up using the google sheet. Request access to the sheet, if needed, and join the fun!
Recommended Hikes- All with some meaning to Lani and Sam
Wilson's Pimple Loop- Hike Below Lani and Sam's favorite mountain in red rock. Fossil Ridge Loop- One of Lani and Sams favorite trail runs that has amazing views of red rocks the whole time. Can make it longer or shorter. Windy Peak Trail- One of the easier trails to summit a peak in Red Rock and the end to the Red Rock traverse that Lani and Sam did in 2023 Calico Tanks Trail- Lani and her parents went on this hike once when they visited and really enjoyed it, some shade Ice Box Canyon- Probably the shadiest option and gives a great sense of the towering walls of Red Rock! Ask us if you need any more information on where to find these. They should all show up on all trails, or I included a cal topo map below
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Here is a link that include a trail map. Please note that you need a reservation to enter the Scenic Drive, where many of the trailheads are located. Reservations open 30 days before the date, i.e. make reservations around Mar 23 for Apr 23 or 25. You can often get a reservation for a weekday day of but you often need to make reservations for the weekends at least few days before. There is also some hiking outside the scenic loop. The Rehearsal dinner is in the campground outside of the Scenic Drive; you don't need a reservation to attend.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Lake Mead is on the east side of Las Vegas with hiking and boating activities.
