Our story began on December 9th, 2017 in a way some would call unconventional. A mutual friend of ours was planning a group date and had caught wind that Dylan had an interest in me and couldn't help but meddle with Dylan's plan of being forever alone. When our friend told me about this group date, she told me she has a blind date set up for me. I was nervous and anxious because I have never been on a blind date before. The night of our blind date, I found out minutes before that Dylan was my blind date, I became more nervous because I always thought he was really good looking. Keep in mind, we had never said a word to each other until now, and our first interaction was very awkward because of me. Our date was unfortunately not as fun and interactive as we wanted to be, our group date activity was snap chat sardines, although we were together the whole time, we were unable to talk and try to get to know each other, we were to focused on playing the game. When our date finally came to an end, we said too each other "I had fun" and gave each other a hug goodbye. I thought it was the last time I was ever going to see him or even hang out with him again, until the next day, I get a message from him, asking me out to Soda Vine. I was shocked and couldn't believe what I was reading, I immediately said yes and started getting ready for our first official date. We ended up staying at Soda Vine for 3 hours just talking, laughing, and getting to know each other, I have never had a conversation like that with anyone, especially when I've only known him for a day. After our long chat, we decided to make some chicken adobo, a Filipino dish he loves from his mission, and then we went and saw a movie together. That was the best date I have ever been on. A little over a month goes by and we made it official on January 16th, 2018. A couple days short of a year later, on January 3, 2019, Dylan and I were engaged While in Illinois visiting for Christmas break.
