One snowy winter at Bard College in 2014 we each enrolled in a class dubbed "The Philosophy of Science." Each day as the semester progressed Kevin swapped seats, getting closer and closer, until a few weeks in he ended up sitting next to me (Nicole!) in the back corner of the class. We immediately bonded over our mutual confusion with our professor's rambling teachings, and Kevin asked Nicole (me!) on a date a few days later. We went bowling (Kevin won) spent several hours at the local diner exchanging life stories, and then went on a beautiful hike overlooking the Hudson. The rest is history!
One weekend in October, we returned to Bard for Alumni weekend, or so Kevin claimed. After a day of reminiscing we returned to that beautiful hike over the Hudson, the same one we went on during our first date years before. As we looked out across the river at the Catskills, Kevin got down on one knee, and I said, YES! before he could even ask the question!
We were married in the Lang's backyard this past September. It was a day of joy and wonder shared with our immediate families. There were so many smiles, some dancing, bubble, sparklers, abounding happiness, and a lot of amazing homemade food (including ratatouille made by the groom and two cakes made by the bride. Yes, there are some very funny photos of us in our wedding best and our cooking aprons!) We look forward to celebrating with everyone in June at our reception!!!
