We met at ΣΤΓ while we were both attending undergrad at UW-Platteville. We were friends first and then a year or so after knowing each other our paths crossed again and after hanging out a for a while decided to make it official. We both graduated undergrad and decided to pick up roots and move to Kentucky for Karl to attend Law School at the University of Kentucky. After an amazing 2 years of living in Kentucky, Karl graduated and we moved back to WI. We were so excited to be back closer to our people, even though they met some amazing ones there. After a few short months in our new apartment, we took the leap and bought a house in McFarland, WI. Project by project, we have made it feel like home. We can't wait to create many memories together, most of which will include our dog Goose; who also loves his new home!
Karl made reservations at L'Etoile for a fine dining tasting menu with a course-by-course wine pairing. Kayla had a suspicion that it was coming, but Karl was sneaky and halfway through dinner Kayla was convinced it wasn't actually happening that night. As we were walking to the car, we passed the Collectivo we had breakfast at where we decided to move to KY (Karl said he was going to do it here, but it was sooo cold out and a group of 10+ college students were talking towards us, and he wanted it to be move private). We got to a vestibule near where we parked and Karl said he had a present he wanted to give to Kayla. He opened the ring box and said "are you ready?" and then got down on one knee. Kayla doesn't remember a single thing Karl said she just remembers saying "yes....yes, put it on!" Afterwards we went to Paul's Neighborhood Bar and Grill for a celebratory drink. We frequently get breakfast there and Kayla's parents had their wedding reception at their sister bar.
