When We Met

2016

I was working at Staples. A young man and his mother walked into the store. He looked quite familiar to me so I walked up and asked what I could help him find. Before he could say anything his mom said, "my son needs a printer" Brandon just rolled his eyes and said, "yes a simple one that only prints" Well being that technology had come further than printing he wouldn't be able to just get a "printer". I ended up finding him his simple printer and went to ring him up. He was not a rewards customer so I told him that I could sign him up and he could start saving. I asked him if he went to Manteno and he said, "Yeah, did you? You look familiar" I told him I did and that he was a senior when I was a freshman. It's a small world and it was about to get smaller. I finished up his regards sign up and got him all squared away and him and his mom left. Later that week I was on a dating site and I got a message from this guy. He said, "Hey Amanda, how are you?" I went along with the conversation for about 2 hours and he then asked me, "would you like to get dinner sometime?" Well heck yeah! So there it was a date set for dinner. I sure am glad I sold him that printer in 2016!

The Proposal

2019

I was so excited to being having my golden birthday. Little did I know that he had something extravagant planned. On January 26, 2019, we went to dinner with my best friends to LaCabana. Following dinner we went over to my parents house to meet up with my sister and cousin. The house was full and the candles were lit and the everyone sang happy birthday. Then I had to open presents. The first present from my parents was my kitchen utensils I asked for, then an 4Ocean bracelet from my best friend Marilyn and following a super cute mug with otters on it from Susan. I was then handed a box, which I was puzzled at the size thinking I was getting the cricut I was begging for. I opened the box ripping off the rose wrapping paper to find another little box with the same wrapping paper. I had to laugh I knew he didn't wrap it because there wasn't any packing tape on it. I made it through the wrapping paper and opened the little box to find this super cute Orca trinket box. Boy, was I excited about the box more than anything. Everyone staring and Marilyn says, "Open the damn box" so I cracked the box open and he dropped to his knee. I am so glad we got the pictures we did because I looked like a blubbering mess. "Amanda, I love you with all my heart...…." That was all I remembered because the shock got too me. Good thing Marilyn took a video :)
