We made our initial connection on Bumble. We decided that for our first date we would meet in Downtown Annapolis. I am my mother's daughter, so we had to meet somewhere very public! It was a first Sunday in August so there was a large street craft festival going on. Our meet up spot was in front of the Annapolis Courthouse. Our first date consisted of drinks, apps, and lots of walking. About 6 hours after we met, it was time for me to leave. William insisted on a second date the next night- bowling- and I could not say no. From then on, every time we walked in front of the court house we would stop where we met and kiss! Fast forward 2.5 years later! William had been gone the weekend before for a bachelor party and would be gone the following weekend for a Pond Hockey tournament. He said that I deserved a date night so we should go out to eat in Downtown Annapolis- it had been snowing outside all day and was picture perfect outside. We made it downtown and walking to dinner we had to pass the courthouse. Like always, we stopped in front of the court house and William said "Are you going to marry me one day?" (something we would say to each other). I replied "Of Course!" and gave him a kiss. He then got down on one knee and said "Will you marry me?". To say I was surprised is an understatement. As soon as I could get words together, I said "YES!" William had his sister Elizabeth hiding out to take photos of us! She caught some candid shots of the proposal and then stuck around in the freezing cold for a mini engagement photo session. Just when I thought we were wrapping up and we could get to the restaurant for warmth and food, William had another surprise! He said that he had booked a room at Hotel Annapolis so that we could enjoy the night and not have to worry about how to get home. He coordinated with his mother and Elizabeth to bring us overnight bags while we were celebrating together over dinner. The proposal was perfection!
