Maid of Honor
Allie is my big sis — my first friend, my opposite, and my competition for loudest laugh. We’ve known each other through every stage of our lives and I am so excited to stand by her side as her and Darius take this next step. We have known Darius for over a decade and a half and I’ve seen the two of them grow up, both separately, and together. I can’t wait to have a brother! To watch our family grow bigger is a beautiful kind of magic and I am ready to celebrate these two, now and for forever!
Best Man
Darius and I first met during a public 1 v 1 duel during Zombies vs Humans at WMU. We got to talking during the mod afterparty and we decided then/there that we were going to trust each other completely, as though we had always been brothers. And brothers we have remained for the past 12 years, sharing in every major chapter in our lives. As for me: I'm an IT infrastructure engineer by day and teach HEMA by night at my sword school in Grand Rapids. The rest will have to wait until the best man's speech!
Matron of Honor
We met in 2019 while working at a daycare and our connection was instant. Our shared love for kids, similar interests, and just our vibes clicking made it feel like we had known each other forever. Even after we were no longer in the same place every day, our friendship never wavered. No matter the time or distance between us, we always found our way back to each other. I am endlessly grateful for the laughter, support, and memories we have shared over the years, and it is such an honor to stand beside her on a day that celebrates her and the love she has found.
Groomsman
Darius and I met in 2020 when I moved back to Michigan and he was one of the first new people that came into my life. We quickly became best friends while clocking in to a terrible sales job together every day. Things like video games, music and anime became regular topics for friendly debates/ hangout sessions and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I couldn’t ask for a better friend to stand by on his wedding day!
Bridesmaid
In the summer of 2017, I was going to move back to Kalamazoo from MSU and I needed to find somewhere to live. On Facebook, I saw Allie was looking for a roommate and the rest is history. I moved in with her and we instantly connected over our love of fun times, good food & sipping wine on our balcony. There is never a dull moment when we are together & I’m so grateful that life led us to each other that summer. Even though almost a decade has past & life has gotten busier, we still always find the time to get Mexican food, gossip & get pedicures. Allie is the most caring, loving and supportive best friend. I’m truly honored to be standing beside her on her special day & celebrate the love her and Darius share.
Groomsman
My relationship with the groom began with a mutual friend introducing us during a game of Zombies vs. Humans, and what started as a fun competition quickly grew into a real friendship. From there, countless hours were spent gaming together and building the kind of bond that only comes from shared victories and late-night laughs. Over time we pushed each other to grow personally and professionally, and I’m grateful for the ways we’ve shaped each other’s paths. Being asked to stand with him on his wedding day as a groomsman is an honor that means a great deal to me.
Bridesmaid
It all started in 5th grade for Allie and me. We were the tallest ones in our class and loved making fun of the popular kids. Catholic school brought us together at 11 years old and we have been inseparable ever since! We have truly been through it all together - dramas, break ups, new apartments, new jobs, many different hair colors, and even our own YouTube channel obsessing over the Jonas Brothers. We have never had a shortage of adventures and I know that we will be going to concerts, out to eat, or just getting coffee together well into our 90’s. Allie is the most wonderful friend a girl could ask for when growing up. She has never hesitate to support me, no matter what the situation. She’s my girl for life and I am so excited for this journey she is about to start with the love of her life!
Groomsman
I first met the groom during HvZ back while we were in college and to this day, we still are the biggest nerds. While it took awhile for our friendship to grow past the boundaries of the game, nothing could have prepared me to be asked to be a groomsman. I couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to see how his lore and myth grow!
Bridesmaid
While I have only known the bride for a little over a year now, I could not begin to describe the honor it is to call myself her friend. Standing next to Allie at the Michigan State Capitol during some dark and horrifying times and knowing that I have built a forever bond with one of the most passionate, empathetic, and dedicated women I will meet in this lifetime- I look forward to joining the newlyweds on their journey! xoxo
Groomsman
Darius and I met during covid. We shared mutual friends for a solid 5+ years but were never in the same location at the same time. Just always missing each other sometimes by minutes. During covid I ended up in a lot of the same discord calls as Darius with a bunch of our mutual friends. It quickly turned into Darius and I taking over the conversation and mainly just talking to each other about everything and anything. Before long Darius and I would spend hours in private calls talking about our past, our future goals and ambitions. We'd bounce ideas and plans off of each other to tweak and make adjustments. From there it was history, he quickly became one of the greatest men id ever met and unknowingly my brother.
