Get To Know The Bride

Mason grew up in North Houston, with my parents and younger brother. She comes from a big family, living mostly across Texas and Oklahoma. They, mostly her dad, instilled a love for nature and being outside (but with a healthy dose of air conditioning mixed in). We often joke that our dog Dottie is a ranch dog, because she enjoyed being on my Dad's ranch so much. Walking and playing with Dottie is obviously a big hobby of Mason's, but luckily Dottie is a good cuddle companion while she enjoys a fun book or embroidery project.

Get To Know The Groom

Lane is from the Lake Travis area and is the baby of his tight-knit family. Though he still catches slack from his hometown about going to OU, he and his sister are both proud Sooners. Outside of work, Lane is a well-rounded hobbyist, able to carry on a conversation about pretty much anything you might bring up. He has gotten into running, rock climbing and, most recently, cycling. He has stocked most of our book shelves with fiction novels and is always in the middle of a new show, with taste ranging from critically acclaimed to zero on Rotten Tomatoes.

How We Met

We like to say we met because Lane's house burnt down. Which is a true thing that happened but really we were introduced by our college roommates (who are now married and are both in our wedding party, shout out the Blakes!). The house fire was more just the catalyst that brought Lane into Mason's apartment between classes, where we instantly clicked. Since then we've been through lots of life together, from COVID to long distance to the unexpected passing of Mason's Dad in 2024. These days we're enjoying living together in North Dallas with our dog, Dottie. After over six years of loving each other, we are so excited to start this new chapter in our story!

How He Proposed

Lane and Mason both share a love for wine and, so far, that love has brought them to Napa Valley, the Sonoma area and our lovely local Fredericksburg! They've made trips to Fredericksburg about once a year since 2021, always stopping for lunch at Grape Creek. Last April, they were in town for a wedding. Since the wedding fell the day after their six-year dating anniversary, Lane suggested they pop into Fredericksburg for a quick overnight visit. Sunday morning when they arrived for brunch, they went into the vineyards to admire the view and snap a few pictures. It was there, tucked away just the two of them, that Lane asked Mason to marry him! The moment was perfectly "us" and we got to soak up our little engaged bubble all day before we told our family and friends the next morning.
