I was a junior in high school and Charley was a Senior when we first met. We had never even seen eachother before, but we both had been put into the same Anatomy class. About a month or two into the semester we were seated right next to eachother in class because of alphabetical order. Not much longer after that, we found out we had a mutual friend and that’s when we started to get to know eachother. By December of 2014, we started dating and that’s where we began!

Charley and I already knew an engagment was the next step for us. We had been talking about it and since we were both out of school and in the swing of a “normal” work schedule, we just knew the time was coming soon. We were both so excited about it and couldn’t wait. Somewhere around September of 2018, Charley and I went to look at engagement rings to just browse and get an idea of what I wanted. I told him I was going to pick my top 3 favorites and he would choose one of those. We hadn’t planned on even buying one but I fell in love with one I tried on and made it very obvious which one i wanted! Of course we couldn’t leave without it! He hid it away from me after that so I wouldnt really remember what it looked like and it would still be a “surprise” when he actually gave it to me. The weekend after thanksgiving- and two weeks after I turned 21- Charley told me we were going to take family pictures with his family at a park in Trussville. When we got to the park, there was a big Balloon display that said “Marry Me” on the bridge. I started walking up and saw his family and my family all there. After I hugged my mom, I turned around and there he was!! I was so happy and I am so grateful for him.
