How We Met

1 . 9 . 2018

We first met at a dinner party for a mutual friend. I walked in and the first thing I saw was this handsome man wearing a cowboy hat. Throughout dinner we talked and laughed with friends until we all decided to go have some drinks at the bar. We were all having fun playing pool when they asked me to go request a Cody Johnson song at the bar. Little did I know Lane was plotting to ask me to dance. He asked me if I trusted him and with a grin on my face I said "yes". We made our way onto the dance floor where we two-stepped to the beat of the music and without warning he literally swept me off my feet. Before I could even think twice, he flipped me upside down and then continued to two-step like it was no big deal. From that night on, he danced away with my heart.

The Proposal

4 . 7 . 2019

Lane went to work that morning like every other morning. My mom had scheduled a photo shoot for me and my sister, so I was busy curling my hair and doing my make-up all morning. My mom insisted on letting her drive us to the location where we were supposedly getting our pictures taken. Not even a block away from my house after she picked me up, a cop gets behind us and turns his lights on. I was thinking "oh no, we're getting pulled over." We pull into a parking lot and I immediately start looking for the insurance card because I know the routine. The Sargent came up to the window, asked us for my moms license and insurance and then returned back to his car. A few seconds later I look up to see two more police cars racing down the road with their lights and sirens on. They speed into the parking lot and position their cars on either side of us. Thats when I started crying because I realized what was happening. I stepped out of the car, watched Lane get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. I've never been so happy to get pulled over.
