Memorial Union Terrace
The terrace is the perfect place to come, enjoy a pitcher of beer and classic Wisconsin foods while taking in the beautiful Lake Mendota. There is a wide array of food available at the Memorial Union building. Also highly recommend trying the Babcock Ice Cream - made on campus in the dairy.
Lakeshore Nature Preserve
Lake Mendota has many walking paths in the Lakeshore Nature Preserve. Attached is a link for maps all around Madison to walk, whether you want to do something quick or a little longer.
State Street
Want to wander around and look at cute shops, drink coffee, enjoy a pub? State street is perfect for you. With Bascom Hill on one end to the state capitol building on the other, it is a adorable street. Julia's favorite store is Anthology for cute posters, gifts, and cards! If you want a cute, art themed coffee shop, Julia highly recommends Michelangelo's Coffee House.
Babcock Dairy Store
Want to see what makes Wisconsin the true dairy state? Visit Babcock Dairy Store for some signature dairy products and even peak at the observation deck to see how the magic happens. Friday // 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Saturday // 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday // 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Dane County Farmers' Market
The Dane County Farmers’ Market on the Square is a Saturday and Wednesday tradition in Madison, Wisconsin. You’ll find the season’s best bounty of vegetables, flowers, meats, cheeses, and specialty products from approximately 220 vendors throughout the year. All of the items for sale are grown, raised, and produced in Wisconsin by the person behind the stand.
Henry Vilas Zoo
Want to go look at some cool animals? The zoo is open daily from 9:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. and it is free! Lane's favorite animal is the tiger and Julia loves the orangutans.
Hilldale Shopping Center
Looking to go shopping at some nicer shops? Hilldale is an outdoor mall, with some restaurants and a Target nearby.
Brittingham Boats
Boats boats boats! Rent kayaks, fishing boats or pontoons to go on one of the many lakes in Madison.

Lakeside St. Coffee House
If you want to rent a bike (or drive) Madison's views on the Monona Lake side, this is the cutest coffee house that turns into a wine house after hours.
Ian’s Pizza Madison | State Street
This is the classic, late night snack for student. Also delicious during the daytime! Pizza by the slice with all the fun toppings. Multiple locations as well. The ranch is 10/10.

Classic Wisconsin Cuisine! And their cheese curds were voted #1 in Wisconsin!
Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano
Julia's favorite, nostalgic Italian food place. Over in Middleton, Julia has been going to this restaurant since the 5th grade. Love their bread and desserts!
RED
Who doesn't love sushi? This is Madison's top sushi place and can confirm it is delicious.
Eno Vino Downtown
Upscale tapas and wine bar, with a view of the Capitol.
Paul's Pel'meni
Cozy counter-serve offering Russian beef- & potato-filled pelmeni, with sides of sour cream.
