We met while working together at a winery during summer breaks in college. Our first date was in 2016 and we went out to dinner in Geneva, that is when Sarah realized she could really fall for him. In 2019 we bought our home and moved in together. Sarah brought her cat Poppy along who loves to nap on Cody. The first week of August, the same year, we added Gracie, an 8 week old Australian Sheppard puppy, to our family.

Sarah's best friend and her husband asked if we wanted to get Wegman's Subs and go to Sampson on Seneca Lake for Sarah's birthday which was a Friday night. Cody had just gotten a new Jeep a week before so we took part of the top off and the four of us went to the lake. After we ate Sarah went to refill her water. When she got back to the table, Cody asked her to marry him, in almost the same spot we had our first kiss 4 summers before.
