Our story began in an unexpected but deeply meaningful place—at Adam’s first AA meeting. What started as a shared space rooted in honesty and growth quickly became the foundation of something special. From the very beginning, we chose to take our time, focusing on our sobriety, building a genuine friendship, and getting to know each other with intention. For Adam, it was clear early on that this was something worth holding onto. For me, it unfolded more slowly—but just as surely. Somewhere between the laughter, the quiet moments, and the many late-night conversations that felt like they could last until sunrise, I realized I missed him when he wasn’t around and simply wanted him by my side. What we built was steady, thoughtful, and rooted in trust—and it grew into a love that felt both safe and extraordinary. Adam proposed during a private birthday dinner, just the two of us. Though I had a feeling it was coming, I could tell how nervous he was. Before the appetizers even arrived, I couldn’t help myself—I asked if he had something he wanted to ask me.
