On December 31, 2019, I joined Bumble (an online dating app) and due to the best accidental swipe ever, I started talking to Landry. We connected quickly but unfortunately he lived in Yukon, Oklahoma while I lived in Rockwall, Texas. We spent the next two months talking through text messages, snapchat videos, and phone calls. On February 27, 2020, we officially met in person at a Thunder game and spent our night enjoying great seats at the game and even visited a fun piano bar in Bricktown after. We made plans to meet up the next day for our next date! The following weekend he came down to Texas and we explored the Dallas area together and he asked me to officially be his girlfriend on March 9, 2020.
On June 12, 2021, Landry and I had a busy day planned. We started our day with the Bobber Bash and made our way to Pie Fest. After only being at Pie Fest for a little while, Landry insisted we needed to leave because he wasn't feeling well. We headed home to plan for the family cookout we were having that night. As I started to get ready, I joked with Landry and put a sign up that said ? days until he proposes and said guess it won't be today because my best friend Shelby wasn't there. As I bustled around the house getting everything set up, Landry seemed to be moving very slowly not getting anything ready. As I was showing my mom and sister something in my closet, Landry then went outside. When we all went outside, Landry pulled me out into the yard and told me he loved me. He then dropped down to one knee surprising me and asked me to marry him. I was so excited it was happening and I said yes! Behind me was my best friend Shelby there to witness it and surprise me! Zero days left - we were engaged!
