Landry's Version: My best friend, Angie, was visiting me during homecoming weekend at Indiana University with her boyfriend, Aidan. She asked me if I would like to meet Aidan's friend from high school and told me that he was in a fraternity at IU. We went to ASig's homecoming darty that morning and Kasey and I instantly clicked. The day after homecoming, we went to Red Robin for lunch and talked for nearly 5 hours. From that moment on, we never spent a day apart. Kasey's Version: One of my best best friend's, Aidan, mentioned bringing his girlfriend down to IU to celebrate our homecoming weekend. He had texted that his girlfriend's best friend attended IU, and suggested she tag along so we could meet each other. I woke up the next morning nervous as ever to be introduced to someone so out of my league. Within first glance of each other, something had sparked that I had never felt before. Little did I know that feeling would develop into a love that I could have never imagined.
Roughly a year prior to our engagement, I spoke to my parents in private and told them that I think I had finally hit the jackpot of life and that I was going to marry Landry. To my surprise, they looked at me and said, " Yeah we know. We've actually known that for a while." They had seen the love between us and had recognized the resemblance between us and where they were 25 years ago. Fast forward, we are finding ourselves planning a trip to the Dominican Republic. By this time, I had already had the ring in my possession and was waiting for the perfect opportunity. Our first night there, we had gone to dinner and all I could think about was when and how I was going to do it. At dinner that night, we had met a Romanian who was traveling the world and listened to his unique stories of his adventures. Later that night, when Landry was not around, I asked him if he would be interested in creating another story to tell on his travels. He helped me set up a "sunset photoshoot" on the beach. After convincing Landry not to take a nap through the sunset, we got all dressed up and headed to the beach. When she was least expecting it, her favorite Ed Sheeran song came on through a speaker in the background and as she turned, she found me on one knee and said yes to forever.
