If you are coming from out of town we recommend staying Wednesday 9/10 through Friday 9/12 or Saturday 9/13 depending on your travel plans.
September in Estes Park is typically beautiful, with highs in the 60s–70s°F during the day and cooler evenings in the 40s–50s°F. Weather can change quickly in the mountains, so bring layers and a jacket for the evening. Brief afternoon showers are not uncommon. Keep in mind, road and hiking elevations in Rocky Mountain National Park can reach over 12,000ft, so weather will be significantly colder and windier if you are planning on going there!
Yes! We are thrilled to celebrate with your little ones, if you choose.
Parking at The Boulders at The Black Canyon Inn is limited. We will be providing a shuttle for assistance with transportation if you are staying off property. A shuttle will run between the venue and The Stanley Hotel. Please look at the "Travel" section of the website for more details on shuttle service.
For those who may be sensitive to the elevation, we recommend considering preparing for this visit by talking to your doctor about taking Diamox to prevent altitude sickness. Although Estes Park is not much higher than Denver, if you choose to explore Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding areas you may encounter elevations capable of making you ill. Best results when taking this medication come when you start taking it a few days prior to travel, so if you are sensitive to altitude or are worried, speak with your physician (or Nicolette) to see if this is right for you. Furthermore, drinking copious amounts of water is very important as well as remembering your sunscreen for outdoor activities!
