Getting Here!

The Ferry The most reliable route to South Whidbey Island is via the Mukilteo (mainland) to Clinton (Whidbey Island) ferry. - The ferry runs from early morning (~5:30am) until after midnight, with sailings every 30 minutes during the day. - Note that on summer afternoons/weekends, ferry lines can back up, so we recommend leaving some buffer time! https://whidbeycamanoislands.com/whidbey-island-ferry-schedules/ Tip: Aim to be at the Mukilteo terminal at least 30-60 minutes ahead of your desired sailing time, to allow for traffic and potential queue.

Airport & Land Travel

There are a couple options for airports: Seattle–Tacoma International (SeaTac, SEA) More flight options, but more ground travel. Paine Field (KPAE, near Everett) This is closer to Mukilteo, which means a shorter drive to reach the ferry. From either airport: Drive / rent a car: This gives you the most flexibility (highly recommended). Alternatively: Take Link Light Rail (if coming via Seattle) and then connect to buses to get toward Mukilteo. Another option (less direct) is to use public transit + shuttles / buses, but this often ends up with multiple transfers and may not align cleanly with ferry times. We strongly recommend renting a car (or arranging a rideshare) so you can move freely across Whidbey, especially to access more remote spots and to maximize your time.

Lodging

Here are some lodging ideas to suit different tastes: Vacation rentals (Airbnb / VRBO): Many guests find this comfortable for groups, allowing kitchen space, living areas, and more flexibility. Inns / small hotels (South Whidbey / Langley area): Good options include: Inn at Langley — 28 rooms, waterfront, spa & restaurant included in amenities. innatlangley.com Boatyard Inn, Langley — well located for local dining and walking around town. boatyardinn.com (There may be other charming B&Bs or inns further south; consult local listings.) Camping / glamping (on South Whidbey): For those who love nature, there are camping and more rustic stays in island parks or private campgrounds. If you prefer this, we can pull up a curated list. Tips: Book early Consider proximity to the ferry when choosing lodging — staying too far north might eat up your travel time; consider staying South of Coupeville to avoid >30 minute drive time one way.
