Mercado de ArtesaníasMercado de Artesanías

S/N Lucas Balderas, San Miguel de Allende, Gto. 37700, Mexico

The Mercado de Artesanias is a artisan's market in San Miguel de Allende which spans the length of a number of blocks N/NW of La Parroquia. From hummingbirds handcrafted from beads to Oaxacan wool rugs to hand-painted ceramic animals, the variety is dizzying. The prices are very reasonable, however DO make sure you take out cash before the shopping spree as not many vendors allow purchase with credit cards. For many of the vendors this is their subsistence, but most are open to a little bit of bargaining. When travelling throughout the city, bring a tote bag with you for the goodies that you find. Wear shoes that have a firm sole and hug the feet. When you take a photo, stop-it's all cobblestone and stone and uneven sidewalks.

We encourage you to spend your early afternoons relaxing with a “tequila and sangrita” aperitif and enjoying some of the fabulous local flavors. Buen Provecho!
