Lauren went to the University of Oregon and graduated in 2015. She knew she wanted to be a nurse and applied to schools all across the country, but ended up deciding on Concordia in Irvine, CA. Andrew went to San Jose State and graduated December of 2014. He wanted to move out of the Bay area and see what sunny So Cal had to offer and settled in Newport Beach, CA. Even though they were only several miles apart, crossing paths in Oregon, Westlake or Newport Beach, they had never met. The funny thing is, it took a dating app for them to meet and one swipe later, they were on their first date. That first date ended up being on Friday the 13th which turned out to be lucky for them, they had many similarities and interests in common and both of them knew that there was something special about each other. Two weeks later and they were officially together and ready for their life of adventuring together .

Andrew took Lauren to Laguna at Thousand Steps beach where they went on their second date. Andrew thought this was a perfect spot to propose because this is where they sat and talked and really opened up and he could see a future with Lauren. Andrew told Lauren he had a special day planned for her and to look nice. He drove Lauren to Laguna, and walked alongside the water at the beach and he stopped her, got down on one knee and popped the question!
