Our adventure begins!

We met when we were in elementary school at Pointevent Park where we both played sports. Lance actually had a crush on me but going to different schools didn't help that! We went to high school together, but by then we were in different social groups and didn't pay much attention to each other. Then, in our freshman year of college Lance needed a date for the Bacchaus ball. He decided to ask me because I knew his family, we got along well, and he thought I was pretty. I couldn't argue with that, so I said yes. A few years later we ended up being really good friends, but I knew I wanted more than that. So I professed my love for him and 5 years later, we have a house, two cats, a dog, and we're getting married! We love our little love story!

I decided to book a post graduation trip to Portland, OR to visit with a friend of mine and adventure to a place we had never been before. Little did Miranda know, she'd be coming home engaged! I searched for places in Portland I knew she would love and found a gorgeous waterfall. I remembered that the one thing she asked for was a photographer to catch our reactions, so I booked a session with a local photographer. The tricky part was keeping the proposal a secret and getting her to wear something "cute enough" for pictures. My story was that we had to buy tickets for pictures in front of the waterfall. The photographer was there taking pictures of the waterfall to make it look natural when we arrived. It was March, so it was FREEZING and the wind blowing through the waterfall made it feel like we were getting rained on. Miranda definitely didn't make it easy getting her in the perfect spot because of that, but with some persistence I was able to do it. After we finally got to where we need to be I pull the ring out of my pocket and get on one knee and popped the question! I think she was in shock because she didn't answer as fast as I was hoping which made me a little nervous. After she had found the words she said "Yes!" and the rest is history!
