Having both recently relocated to Chicago, Lance and Meredith met while working for Slalom. Their two worlds collided in a personality training course. Lance, cool and nonchallant as ever, sat in the back of the class while Meredith was energetic and overly outgoing sitting in the front row. They slowly learned that while their personality styles were polar opposites, they were the perfect companions. Fast forward one week, and Lance found himself at a bowling event that Meredith had organized. Scoring an impressive 60 points after 5 whiskey drinks, Lance couldn't resist asking Meredith out. Meredith would say it was destiny; Lance would say they were set up for success from day 1 (such a consultant!).

Three years of dating and many adventures later, Lance decided it was about time to settle down. Being a natural born project manager, Lance spent months planning the perfect proposal. Thankfully Meredith was cool as a cucumber throughout the whole process (Lance may beg to differ...however Meredith is the one writing this story so we will stick to her version). The morning of the proposal, Lance blindsided Meredith at 6am with a dozen roses, a card, and a kiss. Not being a morning person, Meredith then spent the rest of the day on the fence trying to figure out if this was her big day… 😉. At 6pm, Lance arrived and took Meredith on a journey that ended at her favorite spot in Chicago; the Adler Planetarium. Under the stars Lance had a 10 point speech listing the reasons why he loved Meredith. Among them were her love for twizzlers, obsession with PBS and British Masterpiece TV series, and loyalty to others. After getting Meredith to calm down and realize this was the real deal, Lance got down on one knee and proposed.
