We changed our venue and finalized our official date! The new venue had a higher capacity so we thought even with COVID restrictions, we could have all of our family and friends attend, but currently the Riley County restrictions are at 15% of the venue's capacity which significantly limits are attendance. We are very hopeful that things will continue to improve and that number will increase, but the unknown makes planning a wedding difficult :) To help us out, please go to http://bit.ly/lanceandkendra to provide us with contact information if we are able to have a higher attendance or to send you the link to watch virtually!
Lance and I have made the tough decision to postpone our wedding date for the safety of our family and friends. We will continue to update the website as we continue to finalize our plans for Spring 2021!
There may have been some tears shed over gifts that Lance has given in the last 6 months in anticipation for this day, including the vacuum for Christmas. March 12th will be a day we will never forget. The entire sports world and the world in general started to shut down due to the coronavirus. Over lunch, I sarcastically texted Lance asking if he was going to propose before the world ends. He responded, "yes I will." Little did I know he was planning on doing it that evening! When I got home from work his car wasn't in the driveway because he said he had to go help his parents with something. I was going to change and go for a run and then meet him for supper, but those plans changed. I opened the door and he was sitting on the barstool with candles and rose petals everywhere!! I dropped my bag and said "what the hell is going on...actually, I think I know what's going on!" I went and gave him a hug and then he got down on one knee. Of course I said YES!!
Our official first date was at the Burger Stand in Topeka after several weeks of messaging back and forth on Bumble. The night before he messaged me asking if he was going to get "catfished" and when I showed up I asked him if he did. Thank God he said "no, you look amazing!" We ate supper and drank a few beers and before we knew it 4 hours had passed. Before Lance was able to get back to Wamego, I had already texted him to schedule our next date! Luckily he felt the same way. :)
