Think elevated casual—outfits that are comfortable but put-together. Sundresses with a sweater, or slacks with a button-down, are perfect. We want you to feel comfortable.
Yes! We'd love for you to bring your kids. Glen Echo Park has multiple playgrounds and kid-friendly spaces. The park will also be open so you can explore other activities at Glen Echo. Please include your kids in your guest count if they are over age 2.
We've added resources for travel to the venue in our travel/lodging section. Glen Echo offers a lot of free parking, though keep in mind that it is also a public park and the lot will likely have cars for people using the other facilities. Lyft and Uber are always a safe bet!
The Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo Park is just a small portion of this special amusement park-turned art center and public park space in Maryland. The park is host to resident artists, theaters, playgrounds, and a historic carousel (that will sadly be closed for the season). Lance actually took his first darkroom photography class at Glen Echo's Photoworks when he was a teenager. More information here: https://glenechopark.org. You will find the Bumper Car Pavilion in the heart of the park, just past the carousel. We encourage you to spend some time looking around the park and checking out the studios before or during the reception!
We want to keep Sunday's event at Glen Echo focused on a participatory celebration and time with our friends and family. Our actual wedding ceremony will be a separate, very small intimate event earlier in the week. We will still have a "ceremonial gathering" part of the day on Sunday where we will guests offer toasts and special wishes for us.
