Some events have themes, if you'd like to participate! Bachelorette- PINK, any shade, all day and night!!! The theme is Rose before the big day! Welcome Dinner- a nice sundress would be perfect. Ceremony- Sunset color theme! Chunky heels and wedges would be better since the ceremony is on grass, the reception is also outside, so pick your outfit accordingly. Afternoon sail: a cute sundress is always appropriate, bring your suit if you want to go in the water! Also, borrow a towel from the hotel pool!
Still apply, you may be able to get it in a few weeks! https://www.tsa.gov/precheck CLEAR is your other option, available at most major airports. CLEAR uses biometric scanning and brings you to the front of the security line! You can use TSA Pre Check and CLEAR to jump ahead to the front of the pre check line as well. www.clearme.com
Get the Mobile Passport Control App and upload all of your info and bypass the line at customs when returning to the US! https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/mobile-passport-control
If you've reached this site in error, then probably none. Otherwise, everything! Importantly, please use the RSVP tab to RSVP for all events so that we can get a proper headcount for the wedding (obviously) as well as other events.
The short answer is, unfortunately not since Secrets is an adults-only resort. If this may be an issue, please let Garrett or Lana know as we believe there are workarounds.
Quite simply--and for the love of God--it is this simple tip: collect your baggage from baggage claim, walk through to customs/declarations, and then SKIP the timeshare "sales area" between customs and the check-in/ground transportation area. Uniformed timeshare sales people will act and appear as if they are your ground transportation reps but they're just slick assholes doing deceptive stuff that almost certainly wouldn't be allowed in the US. Do not stop, just head straight outside to the curb. Let's just say Garrett and Lana learned this lesson from first-hand experience. Your Delta Vacations shuttle coordinator--or whoever you use--will be waiting for you OUTSIDE. There's a cool little outdoor bar where you can buy drinks while you wait for the rest of your travel group or other riders if using a shared transfer. Delta Vacations reps will be wearing a light blue polo shirt that says "TRAFICTOURS."
Yes! In additions to booking a Delta Vacations hotel-only reservation (please see the travel page for more information), other booking sites and agents will allow you to book other airlines. If you do use Delta Vacations for ground or hotel-only, please call Delta Vacations with your flight information so that they can coordinate the airport transfer for you.
US Dollars are used almost as frequently as Pesos but just to be safe, consider bringing Pesos. No matter the currency you bring, do get some cash out for tips (while Secrets is all-inclusive, tips are greatly appreciated). We strongly recommend you get cash at your local US bank or ATM since exchange and other fees can be high once in Mexico.
Summer clothing - it will be hot in Cabo during August (but dry). Swimwear, sun glasses, sun block, your [valid] passport (and a photocopy), some "going out" clothes, and some cocktail/formal attire. Do bring cash for tips and avoid ATM fees by getting it before leaving the US. If you can, see if your local bank branch has Pesos (but Dollars are accepted widely). But mostly, just bring yourself and be ready to have an amazing time!

Yes, we can't speak for other booking agents or websites but Delta Vacations allows split amounts.
No, but it is available as a separate purchase.
Mostly. As a tourist area, most folks in the service industry speak fluent English but we've found that, if anything, cab and Uber drivers may not be so fluent. Have the Google Translate app loaded on your phone just in case.
Taxis are prominent and hopefully you booked the roundtrip airport shuttle (whether private or shared). Additionally, Uber is indeed available (Lyft is not) and it is CHEAP!
Yes! As a tourist region, the cities and areas within are safe and have a police presence you'd expect here in the US. As always, be mindful of your surroundings and maintain proper situational awareness, especially at night and while imbibing if out on the town.
No, they use the same plugs we have here in the US. Just don't stick paper clips in them.
It will be a far easier and more enjoyable experience if you do but it is not required. The solution simply involves purchasing a "day pass" in order to get onto the property for a given event. We do not currently know how much these passes cost but can find out if this is a route you might be interested in. Please let Garrett and Lana know.
Not really. It'll be tough to tell what changes between March and August of 2022 but requirements are already pretty lax. Entering Mexico requires completing and signing a declaration that immigration personnel collect. In country, masks and face coverings were common--and generally required indoors--in early 2022. To enter back into the US, you will require a negative COVID test result within one day of departing for the US. Please check US State Department guidelines--as things often change--but as long as your test is dated one day before US entry, it's fine. It doesn't even need to be within 24 hours: you can take a COVID test Monday morning for a Tuesday evening departure and it'd be fine. Please note that Secrets does have onsite testing for a fee of around $30.
Yes! Montezuma's Revenge is a bit of a myth but... speaking of... you will be eating and drinking foods likely well outside of your local food ecosystem. That being the case--and no matter where you travel abroad--those with sensitive systems may want to bring some OTC meds that help with such matters ;)
Garrett says the diving in Cabo is pretty good. There's a lot of aquatic life and the currents and temperatures are mild. He hasn't set up anything at the moment based on estimates of invitees' interest but let him know if that's something you want to do and it can be arranged!
Oh, absolutely! In addition to a full set of amenities (pool, bars, restaurants, pickle ball, volleyball, beach, fitness, etc.) on the property, the event and hotel staff schedule activities almost daily.
Glad you asked. "Los Cabos" is the area at the southern tip of the Baha Peninsula and translates to "The Capes" (plural). The "Cabos" then include cities like the most popular, Cabo San Lucas, and the second largest, San Jose del Cabo, which is only about 10 minutes from the Secrets resort. To a lesser extent, the nomenclature of Los Cabos is also meant to include other cities and towns with "Cape" in the name, such as Puerto Los Cabos ("Port of the Capes") where the hotel is located. In short, it's why the airport that serves the entire region is aptly named Los Cabos International Airport.
