Chandler and I first met when we were 15 and 16 years old while working together at a small BBQ restaurant. What began as a simple friendship during our shifts together slowly became something much more meaningful—though at the time, we didn’t yet see the way God was weaving our story together. One of our coworkers—who is now our wedding photographer—Whitley, told me that I should add Chandler on Snapchat. The very next Wednesday, we went to church together. That night we sat side by side listening to a sermon preached by Pastor A, who we now have the honor of marrying us. Looking back, it feels so special that one of the very first places we spent time together was in church. After the service, we stopped by Sonic for a slushy before Chandler drove me home. On that short drive, he looked over at me and told me he loved me. And about a minute later, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Maybe it was a little out of order, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. From that night on, our relationship continued to grow in love & faith. 4 & 1/2 years later, Chandler got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. What began as a friendship between two teenagers has grown into something far greater—a love we believe God brought together and continues to guide as we prepare to enter into this covenant together. “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” — Matthew 19:6
