In 2021, we both moved to Chicago for very different reasons. Katie relocated from San Francisco to be closer to family, and Trey was there for a research year at Northwestern in between years of medical school. We didn't know each other yet, but Chicago turned out to be where everything started. We matched on Hinge in January 2022, and our first date at Sunda in River North turned into hours.

That year in Chicago was special. We spent a lot of time walking around the city, trying new restaurants, laughing a lot, and settling into Sundays that almost always involved Bengals football. Eventually, we were in different places for a bit, Katie back on the West Coast for business school and Trey finishing medical school and applying for residency in Ohio, but we stayed close and kept choosing each other. After Katie finished school, she moved to Washington, D.C. to be with Trey, and that’s where our life together really took shape: coffee shop mornings, cozy movie nights, church on Sundays, traveling the world, and a rhythm that we really love.

In March 2025, Trey proposed in St. Louis, Missouri - and we can’t wait to return there to celebrate with all of you.
