Bruce and I met the old fashioned way, online. On our first date we learned we both attended the same church. Beginning with the first date, Bruce was a perfect gentleman and intentional about getting to know me. He won my heart early, surprising me with tickets to a Johnnyswim concert, something I had only mentioned briefly to him. The surprises and great memories continued from here.
One of the most memorable and perfect surprises was on September 9, 2017 - when Bruce proposed. He definitely put much thought and planning into the details. The plan was to go to the Dallas Arboretum, with his family, to celebrate his dad's birthday. We arrived to the Arboretum with gifts in hand, walking around "waiting" on his family. We pass by a beautiful wedding, that we both talk about, as we "wait" on his family. After passing the wedding we approach a beautiful garden, decorated with rose petals in the shape of a heart. He insist that we go check it out. I'm hesitant, thinking this is for the wedding we've passed. I eventually follow him into the garden. Before I know it, he's ripped cloth off a wooden display that says "Will you marry me?" And he's down on one knee. I was surprised and elated to say the least. He pulled off the perfect surprise and it was all beautifully done.
We officially said "I Do" on November 5, 2017, with our parents and siblings. We are excited to experience this day with our extended family and friends.
