We’re Getting Married!

Rickey and Tia met in 2009 at a small HBCU, Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS. So we first saw each other the week before classes had officially started, walking around campus. During that week, Rickey was walking by a group of "track girls" and he spoke. Everyone out of the group spoke back, except for the girl that initially caught his eye. This same routine went on for about a week. He eventually caught me at a block party on campus, when I was sitting with my cousin Kiara. Rickey had it in his mind that this was it, I was going to speak to her this time. So to get my attention, Rickey comes up to us with his teammate and says "hey yellow shirt, while you are in your phone, put my number in it". And of course, I put his number in my phone. He didn't think I was going to text him first but I did. I text him and asked him if he wanted to go on a walk around the campus that night and he responded back yes. Our walks around campus was our chance to get to know each other on a different level and to also get bit by the Mississippi mosquitoes. But the most important thing was that those walks were able to start us on our journey down the aisle. #LambLove
