Steve and Megan used to work together and during that time the company held an event called Paying It Forward. The goal was to pick a coworker's name out of a hat and do something nice for that person. Steve pulled out Megan's name and the rest was history. Steve decided to take Megan out to a lunch that lasted for two hours (Steve may have missed a meeting) and they both left feeling like they had a special connection. A few months, happy hours, and nervous conversations later, they finally went on a real first date at City Tap House. After a few dates, Steve confessed to Megan that he accepted a job in Salt Lake City, UT and would be leaving in a matter of weeks. Megan was surprised by the news but also excited for Steve and they decided to keep in touch. Keeping in touch led to officially dating, which included 2 and a half years of being long distance. After almost four years of dating and finally being in the same city, Steve proposed to Megan!
Steve orchestrated the best surprise proposal ever. The day started with fake brunch plans at Urban Farmer with Mary, Pat and Caroline. As Steve and Megan were walking up to the restaurant through Logan Square Park, Steve brought Megan to a secluded area by the fountain and proposed! After the shock of the proposal and the news that they were not in fact meeting family at brunch, Megan and Steve began their day of celebrating their engagement with family and friends!
Megan and Stephen are pleased to announce they were married in an intimate wedding ceremony on November 25, 2022. They are excited to renew their vows in front of their family and friends in April and can't wait to celebrate their marriage with everyone!
