The first time Lydia noticed Lambert

08/14/2016

The first time I saw Lambert was when we were in the canyon at Ghost Boat. Of course I had seen him before, but this was really the first time I noticed him. I had my birthday party in the canyon that year, and amanda let me invite a few people who didnt work there to come and celebrate before hand. We had subs and music and just hung out :) that night I had a friend sleeping over and she said to me “that army boy with the glasses was really cute!” Man, did I look at her like she was nuts! I said, “who, LAMBERT?!” We laughed and laughed but the conversation stuck with me. The next day I remember on my way to ghost boat thinking “Maybe I missed something” and was planning on trying to see it though her eyes. I got there and you couldnt miss him that day, he came in on his motorcycle. I still have a picture from my first ever ride on it, covered in zombie gore.

Lambert Meeting Lydia’s Parents

-as just friends

After becoming friends Lambert and I spent a good ammount of time together, hiking, swimming, and him teaching me how to ride a motorcycle. It wasnt long before Lambert met my parents, and they sure hit it off! Dad was smitten and Lambert was nothing but a gentleman. We ate and played bored games and then lambert headed off for the night. I remember with a smile on my face the conversation my dad and I had that night often. I was sitting in the living room with dad right after Lambert had left, and dad looked over at me and said “Lydia, what do you think you’re doing to that poor boy?”. I laughed at him and said “well what do you mean?” Dad looked at me dumbfounded and said “LYDIA! That boy is in love with you!” I laughed even harder at that one and brushed him off reminding him that “we’re just friends and Lambert knows that”. To this day everytime we tell that story, we all laugh, and Lambert agrees that even back then, he loved me.
