We met somewhere between swapping crayons in kindergarten and doodling in each other's assignment notebooks in sixth grade. We won’t bore you with all the details of our awkward days in plaid uniforms, braces, & Joey’s buzz cut. You’re welcome to scroll through our cringy Facebook wall posts or simply ask Will Supple for further details. To note a few highlights - we *technically* went on a first date to Plaster Fun Time. Why yes, we were dropped off by parents. And yes, our additional friend did all of the talking. We wore an unflattering shade of coral to Belmont Hill Prom. Yes, you can also find uncomfortable-in-our-skin photos on Facebook. Finally went on a *real* first date, followed by a drive to a park in Arlington backdropped with the Boston skyline. Respective families had their share of teasing us about our (not so secret) secret crushes on one another. Neither one of us just ever had the courage. Until.. Nearly a decade later, two adults met up for drinks in NYC, became pen pals (yes via the mail, actually) for the summer, and discovered we both held onto our painted Plaster Fun Time item after all these years. We finally realized what everyone else already knew — we were simply always meant to be. Fast forward to one drizzly Thursday afternoon, Joey asked Becca to bring some extra dog food for Enzo to Belmont Hill’s first (& only ever) “Puppy Picnic in the Park” social. Dog bowl in hand and no other pups in sight, overlooking the skyline of Boston in the same spot as a decade beforehand, Joey asked Becca to be his first and last crush. Without hesitation, we both finally found the courage.
