FAQs

To answer the question that some may have, YES, there are two main events happening on the weekend of September 5th and 6th. ON FRIDAY the 5th, we are getting married in a short ceremony at the 1895 Historic Courthouse in Downtown Fort Worth. Only 14 guests are allowed inside the room so only a few people can attend in person. HOWEVER, our photographer will take pictures & we will go out to have a low-key meal with anyone else who is in town and would like to greet us in the Courthouse lobby. We are also planning to stream that short, official ceremony for those out in the lobby. If you want to join us for those things, you will still need to wear clothing in the color palette (see the GALLERY). ON SATURDAY, September 6th, we will have our Celebration with a more traditional, Nigerian flare at FLAME LILY. As we merge two lives (and multiple cultures) we want everyone to celebrate with us! It will be a time to dress up, let your hair down, laugh, cry, dance, eat, drink and be merry!
Question

Do I have to wear the colors in that color scheme?

Answer

YES. That weekend is for the rich rainbow. LOL! We are asking all guests to wear any of those colors both days; at the Historic Courthouse and at Flame Lily, but you don't have to wear the SAME color each day. *smile* PLEASE NO ALL WHITE OR ALL BLACK

Question

When should I be at the courthouse if I have been asked to attend the ceremony there?

Answer

You should get to the courthouse no later than 1:30pm. It is a short ceremony and it will begin promptly on time.

Question

Is there parking at the courthouse?

Answer

Yes. At that time of day there is limited parking at and around the courthouse. You may have to park a little ways away and then walk to the Courthouse. It will be important to arrive early to make up for the time it may take.

Question

Do I have to pay to park around the Courthouse?

Answer

Yes. Downtown Fort Worth has paid parking during the time we will be there for the ceremony. HOWEVER, for 30 minutes of parking it is a little over $1.00 so the cost is minimal. Also, you can download the FW PARK app (it has a brown longhorn, blue writing and a white background) in advance, adding your card information, and it can save you time. Just find your Zone code when you park, enter it in the app, set your desired time and go! It will alert you when your time is close to expiring and you can add more time right from the app so you don't have to run back to the meter if you want more time! ALSO, if we eat downtown, you won't have to move your vehicle and start over. We can just walk next door and have our meal together.

Question

When does the Celebration start?

Answer

We will be celebrating the ENTIRE weekend (lol) but on Saturday, September 6th we will expect to begin at 8pm and end at 1am.

Question

Google maps shows a weird location for the event center on Saturday. How do I get to the right place?

Answer

The owner is working to get Google to correct the mistake. HOWEVER, I recorded a video showing the correct street, entrance, and location for anyone who may have questions. Please check out the video in the facebook Wedding group OR feel free to contact LaKeSha or Omotayo and we will happily share the video with you. (I tried uploading here but that is not an option. Sorry.)
