Will and I were introduced years ago when our families went to the same church, but never thought anything of it. Fast forward a few months later when Niki, my cousin, started dating Shawn, his brother. They talked about me to him and about him to me and one day Will messaged me on Facebook with an awkward little “Hey I heard you rode with me brother today” SO. CUTE. 🥰 We ended up hanging out for the first time around Christmas of 2015 and were pretty inseperable for a while. Like most teenagers, we went our seperate ways and lived our seperate lives until October of 2018 when I messaged Will because for some reason I just felt the Lord telling me to do it. It’s been history since then.

Over the last few months we have discussed the idea of starting a committed life together as husband and wife. Look at a ring here, mention something there. The usual. The first week of December I started getting a feeling that it was happening soon. So on Thursday I decided to go get my nails done with a friend in hopes that it would be an upcoming weekend. While we were there she asked about seeing Christmas lights afterwards. Obviously I said yes, (Christmas. DUH.) But I knew convincing Will would be a little harder because it was a Thursday night and we know men and football season. Glued to that TV and their fantasy football apps screaming at the players on a first name basis like their friends from high school or something. But to my surprise, when we got home, Will said yes to Christmas lights. We all hop in the car and head to Clanton, AL for this so called "Christmas Wonderland"..... it was, uh, quite the disappointment. We get back in the car and decide to find a few places to stop on the way back home. We end up off a gravel road, convinced we will be on the next episode of Crime Junkie Podcast. Once we pull up to the destination, it is SPECTACULAR. We walk through singing, laughing, making memories. At the end there's a tree with a bench and mistletoe. Perfect photo op, obviously. Will and I sit down to take pictures and the man had the ring BY MY SHOULDER in all the pictures. I went to get up and he sat me back down and asked to spend the rest of our lives together. I was completely taken by surprise but it was the best, most "Will way" to pop the question. No big theatrics, just Will asking the question. I could not have asked for more.

December 2015 - First time we met and also first date! fast forward a few years. if you know, you know. October 2018- Started speaking to each other again and decided to meet up at Guitar Center in Hoover one day. January 2019 - I bought Will tickets to a Justin Timberlake concert hoping that he would think I was absolutely amazing and ask me to be his girlfriend. He didn't. buuuutttttt it did show how much I care and helped him with clarity on whether or not he was going to do it in the future. February 1, 2019 - Will walked into my bedroom and took me by complete surprise by asking me to be his girlfriend. I thought he was joking. No lie. Obviously I said yes, though. fast forward a few years, a home together, two dogs, a ridiculous amount of people asking if he was ever going to ask, and a WHOOOOOOLE lot of band gigs. December 2, 2021 - Will asked me to marry him while looking at Christmas lights with friends! January 2022 - We picked our date and our venue. October 2nd, 2022 - WE ARE GETTING MARRIED
