Engagement Story

January 2, 2021

Lamar Originally I was going to ask her to marry me New Year’s Eve but Hawaii didn’t have anything going on because of COVID. But a day earlier she went in my bag to get some lotion and I stopped her because the ring was in there. Something didn’t seem right with how I was acting when she went to go in the bag, so she seen went back to the bag later and found the ring. So since she seen the ring, I had to make her think it I wasn’t going to ask her. So I waited until the day before I was supposed to fly back to Virginia. Our day started with plans to go to brunch. But we spent most of day laying around and at the P.X. When we got back to the house to get dressed. It was already expected that she was going to take forever to get dressed, because she can never find anything to wear. The outfits that she imagines in her head, don’t never go as planned when she puts them on 🙄😂. She put on a pair of jeans, tank top, an over shirt and some ankle boots. I looked at her while I was shaving my head and said, can you change your clothes? She immediately gets irritated and says “I don’t have anything else to wear” 😒😤. We go back and forth for about five minute! So I say “what about the dress I picked out for you”. Now, she’s really pissed because she hated that I remembered she had that dress. Now she’s pouting and taking forever because she has to change. Lakeisha As he’s driving to the “restaurant”, I noticed he started to get a little worried/jittery. He takes a phone call and the conversation goes “yes, no, ok…. Basically a one word conversation on his part. He hangs up and I noticed that he’s leaning to the side with his phone as if he was trying to hide something. He starts speeding and I’m like “slow down, why you driving so fast”? He replies with “we need to hurry or they’re going to cancel our reservation”. At that point I’m ready to hit him because I’m still irritated about the clothes situation and how he was speaking in code! He puts the address in the GPS after we find parking and where almost a mile down the street from where we need to be. Mind you I have on heels and I haven’t walked in heels in about five years because of a previous ankle surgery. So, he runs back to the car and gets my flats. He has me speed walking down the street like we were on the range “range walking” for my military folks. He makes a phone call and get directions that led us over the sharpest mountainous rocks like I didn’t have on these soft ass bedroom shoes on lol!! The level of irritation is up there ok, but I was thinking about eating, because if I didn’t do anything else, at least I was about to eat! 😁😋 Lamar Once we got close we seen a photographer taking pictures and I’m like “oh look at that weirdo taking pictures of people.” We get a little closer and we see a picnic set up on the beach. She says “oh that’s nice, someone just got proposed too”. She walks past the picnic as I tell her a little further and we’ll be there. I let her walk a little further down the beach 🏖 🙄. Then I say “Miss Lady you leaving me”. As she’s turns around I’m on bended knee. When she realized what was happening the water works starts and she walks back to me and I asked her to be my wife. The photographer and picnic was for her. Why was I speeding because the photographer said the sun was about to go down and he didn’t want us to miss the sunset 🌅 for the photo shoot. Just imagine what our photos would have looked like if she would’ve wore what she originally had on. She would have been pissed in all the photos and somehow it would have been my fault! Luckily she changed, but most importantly I gave her a day she will always remember and she said YES!!!! #forricherorpryor!!!!

For all the days along the way
