You should plan to be at the Ding Darling Shelter Park by 3:30 PM. Be in your seats and ready for the ceremony to start at 3:45 PM at the latest.
There will be assigned tables. You will sit at your assigned table during both the ceremony and reception.
Hell yeah! Babies and kids are always welcome. There is a playground the kids can play on and we’ll have a space for the kids with some activities to keep them busy.
There isn’t necessarily a dress code, but we prefer that everyone dress formally (suits, dresses, etc.) because there will be pictures taken. If it helps you decide what colors to wear, our wedding colors are navy blue, lavender, and silver.
Just head towards Des Moines from wherever you’re coming from. If you’re coming from the West, take I-235 E and get off on exit 8B for E 6th St toward Pennsylvania Ave. Turn left onto Pennsylvania Ave and follow this road for 1.4 miles until you get to the Ding Darling Shelter Park which will be on your left. Look for the Ding Darling Shelter Park sign. If you’re coming from the East, take I-235 W and get off on exit 11 for Guthrie Ave. Take a right onto Guthrie Ave. In 1.7 miles, turn left onto N Union St. Then turn left onto Saylor Rd. The Shelter will be immediately on your right. Look for the Ding Darling Shelter Park sign.
