Our Love Story

This love story began back in 2022 when Laissa and Alex were just swiping their lives away through the dating apps. Luckily for Alex, he went to a wedding the previous summer and had a picture of the cutest dog that Laissa thought was his, so she decided to swipe right and give Alex a shot. After a few months of talking, Alex finally gathered the courage to ask out Laissa on a first date to Downtown Arlington Heights. Laissa agreed, but felt a little nervous since she has not been on a date in the United States before, so she asked a few friends to come along “just in case”. To no surprise, Laissa and Alex made an instant connection. After only a few months of dating, Alex knew that Laissa was someone special so before going to a friendsgiving, he finally asked Laissa to be his girlfriend. From there, their love grew. Alex was able to introduce Laissa to his mom and dad and she supported him during the hardest of times. Laissa introduced Alex to her parents via Facetime and they instantly knew how amazing he was. Everyone that saw these two together, knew that their bond was stronger than anything. In April 2024, Alex and Laissa moved into an apartment and started to build their future together. After this and without Laissa knowing, Alex facetimed with her parents, Silvana and Valdecir, and asked for their permission to marry her. They didn’t think twice about it and couldn’t express how happy they were that they knew their daughter found someone that truly cared about her. On a beautiful spring day in May 2024, with the help of their friends Marissa and Larry, Alex took Laissa for a walk around their neighborhood and told the story of their love. When they finally arrived back home, on the front porch, Alex had a love letter written to Laissa and a ring on the collar of the very dog that Laissa liked back from the dating app.Through a lot of joyful tears, Laissa said Yes. Knowing how much Laissa and Alex love both of their families, a decision had to be made about their wedding. They decided that it would be better to host a small and intimate wedding in Chicago with just Alex’s family and then share their love with everyone in Brazil. So here we are, Brazil we come!
