It all started back in 2018, when Ruben sent me a request on Instagram. At the time, I wasn’t really interested in being in a relationship, so I left his request sitting there… oops! Ruben likes to remind me that since I didn’t accept him the first time, he deleted that request — his version of playing hard to get, of course. But a few weeks later, he sent it again — and this time, I accepted. We started messaging through DMs, which quickly turned into texting, and soon after, Ruben asked me out on our first date. We went to Habi Sushi, and while Ruben loves to tell everyone that I ordered a "pinklemonade" instead of a water or soda. I was just a nervous girl trying to play it cool. Since then, Habi Sushi has been our go-to spot. After that first date, we began spending more and more time together, and somehow, deep down, I knew that one day I would marry him. That summer, Ruben left for three months to finish his career training. Before he left, he asked me to be his girlfriend — and from then on, everything just fell into place. Even though he was only home on weekends, we made every moment count. Through every up and down, we’ve never left each other’s side. We’ve celebrated each other’s accomplishments, supported one another through challenges, and most importantly, we’ve always stood by each other. Now, seven years later, with a home and our “daughters” Harper and Nova (our dogs), we’re finally saying “I do.” We can’t wait to celebrate this special moment in our lives with all of you, as our love continues to grow and blossom. 💍✨
