It blows my mind how we've attended the same high school and share lots of mutual friends, but we never crossed paths until after graduation. I finished my last two months of senior year in Las Vegas, Nevada where I moved with my family. All I wanted was to go back home. After graduation, the summer of 2010, I hopped on a plane back to Jersey. A couple days after of being back home, my best friend Kevin picked me up to hang out with the rest of the crew. We were being adventurous that day and searched for "The Gates of Hell", some where in our hometown of Clifton. I was introduced to John that same day, as he was with our friend Devan. I didn't really pay any attention to him because we just met and I was too happy being reunited with the rest of our friends to bother asking who he was. After we've discovered the creepy dark tunnel (the Gates of Hell), we all decided to go grab some food at Taco Bell. Kevin decided he'd leave me to go pick up one of his friends and he told me to ride with Devan and John. On the ride there, John was always cracking jokes and I laughed because it was funny. I went home later that day. A couple months later in October, there was a party at a friends house to celebrate Bobby & I's birthday. All of our friends were there. John was there too, along with his two older brothers. We were all having fun laughing, drinking and dancing until John asked me to dance. I really had no interest in dancing with him so I politely declined (lol). He looked sort of offended but I figure he'd get over it. Two weeks later, there was a Halloween party. I was having fun dancing with the girls and as time went on I decided to sit down. John appears and he sits beside me. He says, "hey, you look bored. would you like to come upstairs with me?" I looked at him, laughed and said "No, I'm okay here. I'm not bored." In my head I was like this guy is f'n crazy, haha. He said, "Well when you are bored, you know where to find me." LOL the nerve of this guy!
You see, when we first started talking, I thought it would only be as friends. But john had a different agenda lol! He had a facebook post about the differences between needing and wanting something. I thought he was wrong so I wanted to correct him. He took it as me telling him that I wanted him! Talk about being so full of himself LOL. From there, we’d talk everyday. He’d always make me laugh and he was fun to talk to. I thought we were becoming the best of friends. Until one day, close to Christmas, he asked me what I wanted and I said nothing. Then he goes and tells me, “Well all i want for christmas is you.” All I could think was, wow he’s corny! After that day John was persistent, he said he always went after what he wanted and he always got it. Man, was he such an arrogant b*****d! I remember telling Lanie how there was this guy that liked me and he wouldn’t leave me alone. She laughed at my misery. Our mutual friends convinced me that John was an amazing guy and I should definitely give him a chance. I trusted them, and deep down I knew he was the guy they kept convincing me he was, because I got to know him. On December 22, I said yes to becoming his girlfriend. The first time we went out as a couple, we went to his cousin’s bar with his friends. You could say it was awkward. I felt like a third wheel to a guys night. Later, we decided to go home. When we got to my house, he got out the car and came to open the car door for me. He walked me to my front door and apologized for the night we had. I said it was okay, hugged him, and turned to go inside. As I was unlocking the front door, John startles me and says “Can I ask you a question?” I turn around confused and say okay. He goes, “Do you think it’d be okay if I get a goodnight kiss, please?” I was so stunned at his question, but I guess you can say he had me at please. Of course I said yes, because what girl wouldn’t. It was so sweet. And everyone who knows me, knows I’m a hopeless romantic.
