The inception of Lainey and Sam was nothing short of a miracle – just two fun-loving, hardworking, adventure-seeking college students who managed to stumble upon each other at a fraternity party at Northern Arizona University in October of 2017. Lainey was born on December 2nd, 1997 in Flagstaff, AZ. While growing up, Lainey enjoyed everything active and outdoors. Horseback riding, hiking, running, skiing, softball, volleyball – she truly did it all! She attended Coconino High School and began pursuing a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice at NAU in 2016. Sam was born on February 14th, 1996 in Mission Viejo, CA. As a young lad, Sam enjoyed being active and had a love for music. He competed in a variety of sports, like baseball, wrestling, and pole vault and ripped on his guitar alongside his bandmates in Hero for Today. Sam attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School (even though he was Jewish!) and pursued a degree in Finance from NAU starting in 2014 (some jokes write themselves). The two enjoyed their years at NAU immensely, though it wasn’t until Sam’s senior year that he struck gold in meeting the beautiful, talented Lainey Kay Georgia. One night, Lainey and her group of amazing friends attended a party that Delta Chi, Sam’s fraternity, was hosting near the South Campus at NAU. In a stroke of sheer luck, Sam decided that this same night, he would skip out on the bar scene downtown and re-live his glory days as a young college student at a house party. Boy was that the best decision he ever made. Now was it the moonwalk, the robot, or simply the elegant freestyle dance moves that Lainey put on display that caught Sam’s attention? Or was it her long, blonde, beautiful hair swinging back and forth as she rapped every single word to Nelly’s generational hit “Air Force One’s”? While that is still up for debate, the true commencement of love for these two began with a simple statement that Sam made to his fraternal ‘little bro’ Conner Kemmerer: “That is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen”. To Conner’s surprise, Sam had never met Lainey. So being the gentleman he is, he introduced the two – and the rest is history. Sam proposed to Lainey at Lake Powell on July 27th, 2024 during the annual houseboat trip that Lainey’s best friend, Kayla Kuban, and her family do every year for Kayla’s birthday. Surrounded by best friends in Lainey and Sam’s favorite place on earth was the culmination of a perfect day. After an amazing weekend of sunshine and surfing, we knew the real work was yet to come… Fast forward a year and half, Lainey and Sam kept the pedal to the medal: Lainey began her career as a real estate agent while coaching fitness classes at F45, Sam is attending paramedic school while working full time as a firefighter, they purchased a home together, and watched their puppy turn a year old! They are excited for their future and are confident in the happiness that future holds. Cheers!
