We met each other through a dating app called Hinge. Kaylee liked one of my photos and sent me a message and immediately I was drawn to her. She looked like so much fun in her photos and she was gorgeous. I messaged her back and we began messaging about what we do for work. After a week or so Kaylee stopped responding and I thought I had bored her to death with details of my job. After a few weeks of no response I began talking with other people. None of them caught my attention the way Kaylee had. I was sad and disappointed. FINALLY, randomly, I got a message from her again that was apologetic in nature letting me know she hoped I would give her another chance as another girl had taken her interest at the same time and quickly focused on her. As Kaylee is very sweet and attentive in nature she will not talk to more than one person at a time in a getting-to-know you stage. That other girl had proven to not be worth Kaylee's time and she had hoped I would understand why she went silent. I was so thrilled and we continued talking for months before we planned our first date. Our first date was incredible, we went to Pinots Palette in Louisville and painted together although we barely spoke as we were too nervous. One thing we decided on though is that each others' energy was magnetic. I was living in Bowling Green at the time though and she in Louisville. We continued to text and FaceTime until she asked me on a second date which (now knowing Kaylee) was incredibly courageous and bold of her. She asked me to join her for a 4 day work trip to Columbus, Ohio. Kaylee drove up with her coworker and I drove up by myself and we spent each night going to delicious restaurants, shopping, riding electric scooters, swimming at the hotel, and going to a baseball game together. We essentially had 3 months worth of dates in a matter of days. That is when we decided one day apart was a day too long and in that July on the 27th, Kaylee mailed me a puzzle to put together that asked one question. Will you be my girlfriend? A few months into our relationship I fell ill with Rabbit Fever (Francisella Tularensis) and Kaylee traveled constantly from work in Louisville down to sleep by my side in the hospital. Kaylee became one of my caregivers only 4 months into our relationship and if I hadn't know it yet then I knew at that point she was my partner for life. A very rocky start to our relationship gave us a solid foundation to build on and Kaylee has proved to be amazing every step of the way. This is why beyond my vows I will spend my life supporting her in any and all endeavors and continue to provide strength and stability for her. She is my world.
