The short answer: Garden Formal. The ceremony will be outdoors, so keep that in mind with footwear. However, as the Archduke and Duchess, we invite you to embrace the spirit of our regal fantasy theme. There will be high tea and feasting in the great hall. There will be crowns and swords and mead flowing. The wedding party will be adorned in attire befitting their royal station, and if you wish to join us as an esteemed member of the court, please do not hesitate. Dressing to theme is 100% OPTIONAL, but if you always wanted to don a corset or cape, this is your chance! Due to the size of the venue we respectfully ask that only those named on the invitation attend.
The two closest airports are Albany International Airport (55 minutes away) and Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (1 hour 13 minutes away) While a rental car isn’t necessary if you’re staying at one of the listed hotels—shuttles will be provided to both wedding events—it may be the most convenient way to get to and from the airport. Plus, having a car gives you the freedom to explore the beautiful Berkshires when you’re not celebrating with us! For those flying into Albany, a shuttle service is available that runs twice daily and can take you directly to your hotel. The rate is $90 one way or $160 round trip per seat. Visit berkshireshuttle.com for details and reservations. Uber/Lyft/Taxis are available from the airport to the Berkshires (typically $80–$120), please note that they are extremely limited in the Berkshires themselves. This makes it more difficult and costly to secure a ride back to the airport.
Yes! We strongly encourage everyone to use the shuttles, no matter where you’re staying. There are plenty of other hotels, Airbnbs, and VRBOs in downtown Lenox that are within walking distance of The Whitlock. Simply make your way to The Whitlock to hop on the shuttle.
He’d have been happy with that too, yes. But the idea of a historical-themed nerdfest where we rule over everyone from our thrones won him over. And the incredible food. And being with everyone he loves to celebrate our everlasting love of course ;)
