We met sitting at the track team table in the dining hall, Tyler was talking about running 21 miles for his friend's birthday, and Laine thought he was absolutely crazy. Tyler however, thought Laine was absolutely stunning. The next weekend, Tyler found Laine and her roommate and asked them both for their numbers so that he could ask them to a game night. Laine thought nothing of it, until she realized that Tyler was only texting her. A few weeks went by, and then Tyler asked Laine to go swing dancing, but, just as friends. Laine was okay with that after as she was not impressed with Tyler's jitterbug. But, they kept texting during winter break and Laine realized how smart and funny Tyler was. She says this was the moment she knew she was going to marry Tyler but, he doesn't believe it.
They went on their first date stargazing in the Badlands of South Dakota, and they both loved the time spent talking to each other during the drive. That first date led to many more, but official dates were limited with both of them being on the track team. They did however, spend a lot of time working on Statistics homework together. During the spring, Tyler cheered Laine on all track and eventually pushed her to join the cross country team the next fall. That fall was pivotal as that is when they decided that they were serious about each other and their relationship, also working on growing together in their faith.
Another year passed, a long cross country season of them being each other's biggest supporter was over, and Tyler was going home with Laine for Thanksgiving. Little did she know that he was going to ask her dad's permission for him to marry her. Over Christmas break, Laine flew to Tyler's family in Denver for a New Year's party, completely unaware that the party was actually going to be an engagement party for her. Tyler had planned a beautiful proposal on the morning of New Year's Eve, proposing after a scenic walk. Laine of course said yes and they leapt into planning their lives together.
Tyler got his dream engineering job in Las Vegas, and Laine was taking a gap year before Physician Assistant school, so it only made sense that after graduation they move to Las Vegas and start their lives together. Then Laine received the best news, she had been accepted into a PA school in Las Vegas, and they both decided that it was a sign from God that they were destined to be with each other. Currently, they love living together with their baby (puppy), Bandit, and are excited to start their life together.
