Is there a dress code?

Answer

Friday Evening - Sangeet Guests are encouraged to wear bright, colorful traditional clothing - salwar kameej, kurta pajamas, lehenga cholis or saris. Saturday Morning - Baraat & Anand Karaj Indian attire encouraged. We ask all guests to dress modestly, cover their heads, and remove their shoes before entering the space. Scarves and head coverings will be available if needed. Saturday evening - Reception Formal Attire. Dark suits with ties, longer cocktail dresses. Tuxedos and gowns are welcome, but not required. Please note events will take place on the lawn, so stilettos are not recommended - we suggest a wedge heel, block heel, or dressy flat.

Where can I purchase Indian clothes?

Online (recommended) Online clothing stores are the preferred choice due to their wide selections and price ranges. What are the key parts of a Sikh Wedding?

Sangeet A pre-wedding celebration that centers around music, dance, and the joyful gathering of friends and family. Baraat The Baraat marks the groom’s arrival and the beginning of our wedding celebrations. Accompanied by music, dancing, and loved ones. Anand Karaj The Anand Karaj is the Sikh wedding ceremony, meaning “blissful union.” It is a peaceful and spiritual celebration that centers on the couple’s commitment to one another. Langar (Communal Meal) Langar is a symbol of community, equality, and service, where everyone—regardless of background—shares a meal together. Attire: Guests usually wear bright, colorful traditional clothing - salwar kameej, kurta pajamas, lehenga cholis or saris.

We kindly request no boxed gifts. Cash gifts are welcome and will help us build our new life together—thank you for your love and support!

How do I get there?

Answer

Train - Amtrak departs from Penn Station (Moynihan Train Hall) and arrives in Rhinecliff Station (RHI). From there it is a 4-minute Uber ride. Car - Complimentary parking is available for hotel guests and street parking is an option for all.

What time should I arrive on Saturday?

Answer

The Barat (wedding procession) begins at 9:00AM, followed by the wedding ceremony.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to the space constraints, we are only able to include children from our immediate family. Thank you for understanding!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

All events will be held on the Beekman Arms Delamater Inn property - no transportation away from the property will be needed.
