Please RSVP by Saturday, August 4th! We just wanna make sure we have enough food for everyone :)
Please try to arrive by 4:30 so the ceremony can start promptly at 5:00! (please no Muslim Standard Time)
In Islam, the marriage between a bride and groom is a legal contract, known as Nikkah. The Nikkah ceremony is one part of several steps of a marriage arrangement considered ideal by Islamic tradition. Think of it as the religious wedding ceremony.
The Walima, or the marriage banquet, is the second of the two traditional parts of an Islamic wedding. The Walima is performed after the Nikkah. The Walima can be held immediately after the Nikkah or delayed (as we are doing in our case as the bride finishes school). Think of this as the big wedding reception!
Since the wedding ceremony will be performed at the bride's house instead of a Mosque, there isn't really a dress code, but modest dress is encouraged!
Nafiz goes by the nickname "Fiz" so #LaiFizGood = Life is Good Blame the groom for this one.
