OUR FAVORITE FOOD SPOTS

Tiny Boxwoods Austin

One of Megan's favorite restaurants for the ambiance and the chocolate chip cookies. If you just want a cookie, pastry, or coffee, make sure to stop by their casual outpost, Tiny's Milk and Cookies, next door. Unlike the Houston locations, there is no daytime counter service at this Tiny's, so make sure to make a reservation for brunch or dinner!

Aba Austin

Another one of Megan's favorites from her time in Chicago. Great shareable Mediterranean food with a large patio right on South Congress. Perfect spot for either brunch or dinner. Make sure to make reservations a few weeks in advance.

Clark's Oyster Bar - Austin

A seafood restaurant located in the heart of Austin. It's known for its fresh oysters, burger and fries, and classic cocktails. With its stylish interior and lively ambiance, it's a great choice for apps and drinks or dinner.

Franklin Barbecue

A key Texas experience. A legendary barbecue joint right by downtown, known for its award-winning brisket, ribs, and sausage. It's a must-visit destination for barbecue enthusiasts, but be prepared for long lines forming before they even open. For a spot a little closer to South Congress and with a little shorter line, check out Terry Black's Barbecue.

Uchi Austin

Uchi is an upscale Japanese restaurant located in the South Lamar district of Austin, known for its inventive sushi and sashimi dishes. Pro Tip: Sit at the sushi bar for an interactive dining experience and let the chefs surprise you with their omakase selection.

Loro Austin

The owners of Franklin BBQ and Uchi got together and created an amazing Asian BBQ fusion restaurant. A great way to get the best of both worlds. They also have a nice laidback patio and amazing frozen drinks (we recommend the frozen G&T!).

Josephine House

Josephine House is a charming restaurant and cafe housed in a historic bungalow in the Clarksville neighborhood. It's known for its seasonal menu, farm-fresh ingredients, and elegant ambiance. Whether you're stopping by for brunch, lunch, or dinner, Josephine House offers a delightful dining experience.

Perla's

A seafood and oyster bar located right on South Congress. It's known for its fresh seafood, relaxed vibe, and charming patio dining area. Whether you're craving oysters on the half shell or a hearty seafood platter, Perla's has something for everyone.

Swedish Hill

Some of the best pastries and sandwiches in Austin. Perfect for a morning stop or for a casual lunch!

South Congress Avenue

Less than a mile from our venue and right outside the door of our hotel block, South Congress is the heart of Austin's vibrant culture and shopping scene! Shop for iconic cowboy boots at Allens Boots or Tecovas, customize your perfect hat at Maufrais, and create signature jewelry at Kendra Scott HQ. When you’re ready for a bite, grab a slice at Home Slice Pizza, enjoy some Tex-Mex and live music at Guero’s, or sip coffee at Jo’s while snapping a photo at the iconic 'I Love You So Much' mural. It’s a must-visit while you’re here!

Barton Creek Greenbelt

If you're looking to get outside, take a hike on the Greenbelt. There's plenty of easy hiking trails where you'll have a chance to see waterfalls and wildlife.

Mount Bonnell

Only a 5 minute hike (it is pretty uphill so be prepared!), you'll see some of the best views overlooking Lake Austin and the city.

Zilker Botanical Garden

A lush oasis located in the heart of Austin, featuring a diverse collection of plants, flowers, and themed gardens. It's a tranquil retreat for nature lovers, with winding pathways, serene ponds, and beautiful blooms throughout the year.

Barton Springs Municipal Pool

A natural spring-fed swimming pool located in Zilker Park. It's a beloved Austin landmark, offering refreshing waters and scenic surroundings year-round. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun or enjoy a leisurely swim, Barton Springs Pool is the perfect destination.

The Contemporary Austin - Laguna Gloria

If you're looking to do some sightseeing outdoors, stop by Laguna Gloria, right on Lake Austin. There's beautiful gardens, interesting art pieces, and the Driskoll Villa, inspired by Lake Como. You'll feel transported straight to Italy. Pro Tip: Laguna Gloria is only a few minutes drive from Tiny Boxwoods so they are a great pair to travel to!
