If you ask us how we met, our stories always seem a little bit different. However, since I am the one telling the story, we first met in the 4th grade on the school bus. We rode the same bus home after school and we got off at the same bus stop. When we would get off he would wait at the corner for my friend Aaron to get off and they would always hang out. He used to tell my friend that he thought I was cute and of course Aaron would always come back and tell me. In fact, one day my parents had a get together with Aaron's parents and Justin ended up coming over. When my parents were introduced to Justin as "Aimee LaFontaine's" parents, his response was "she is hot." My mom is a witness that this story is true, however, Justin begs to differ. We met again 8 years ago through a mutual friend at a New Years party. We did not start dating until summer of 2013. It has been a great 8 years filled with love and happiness.
Our favorite thing to do is to go out on the boat. Every summer we go on a family vacation to Lake Gaston for a week. Last summer, August of 2018, will always be a trip to remember. Each year we always have a wonderful time with our friends and family. This trip was different than usual because not only did I get engaged, but, it rained everyday with the exception of Wednesday, August 1st. On that day the water and the temperature were perfect and it was beautiful outside. We spent the whole day outside floating, swimming, going on boat rides, riding the jet skis, and wake boarding. Later that evening, our close friends were coming in town and Justin had suggested that we all go to a local restaurant on the water for drinks and appetizers. When we were getting on the boat to head to the restaurant, Justin's mom suggested we take group pictures on the front of the boat because the lighting was perfect. Justin and I were the first to take a picture. When Justin and I were posing for a picture he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! And of course I said YES! I had no idea this was even coming and my face said it all. After almost 8 years, Lake Gaston will always be our favorite place where our next chapter started.
