We met out on the dance floor!!! It was January 25, 2019, a cold winter night, and I just arrived home early that morning from sunny Florida, where I celebrated my birthday week. My coworker had been inviting me to go dancing out in the Philadelphia area for weeks, and I finally gave in. Little did I know that my life would change forever that night. LaFone came over and asked me to dance, it was a bachata song......to be exact, the song was Me Emborrachare, by Grupo Extra (look it up, you won't be disappointed). After a great first dance, we thanked each other and continued on our way. I took a seat to relax and LaFone came and sat next to me and introduced himself, I had him repeat his name about 4 times, and I still pronounced it incorrectly. We made small talk and exchanged numbers and it was all history from there.

LaFone had planned to pop the big question while we were on vacation in the Dominican Republic. He had planned an amazing 10-day vacation full of surprises, one being that we would be staying in an actual tree house for 5 days! We had a private dinner one night and it was the perfect romantic setting for a proposal, but it did not go according to plan. I later found out that LaFone could not get the ring box out of his pocket for some reason, and he just continued with the evening. We had an amazing time during our vacation, even without the planned proposal that I had no idea was supposed to take place. Two weeks later we went to visit my family to celebrate my brother's birthday, after the party I was getting ready for bed, took off my contacts and put on my pajamas. I went back downstairs to say goodnight to everyone, that was when LaFone came over and told me that he loved me, and then got down on one knee, pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. I was completely shocked and said YES!!! No one took a video or pictures, it was a genuine in the moment proposal, with me in my pajamas, and I loved it.
